1 dead as car veers off Terminal Island Fwy

LONG BEACH – A motorist thrown from a car that veered off the Terminal Island Freeway and struck a building in Long Beach died today.

The crash at the freeway’s northern end at Willow Street was reported at 12:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Long Beach firefighters confirmed the fatality, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.

The northbound vehicle was a white car, and the motorist was ejected, a camera crew at the scene reported.

Long Beach police were handling the investigation, Kimball said.
