2 killed, third injured in North Hollywood crash

Two people were killed and another person was injured today in a crash in North Hollywood, police said.

The crash occurred about 2:15 a.m. outside 4830 Vineland Ave., near Peach Grove Street, said Officer William McConnell of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The female driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, as did a female passenger, said Sgt. Aaron Ponce of the North Hollywood Station.

A male passenger suffered serious injuries, but was conscious and breathing as he was transported to a nearby hospital, he said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
