3 seriously injured in van, car crash
Three people were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a car and a van, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 8:05 a.m. near the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Newland Street, said Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire AuthorityAuthorities at first requested a team and equipment to cut through the wreck in order to rescue at least one person from a car, but paramedics were able to help them out of the vehicle, he said.
The crash involved a Toyota Sienna and a Corolla.
Paramedics took two women and a man to UCI Medical Center to be treated. A 45-year-old man appeared to have suffered head injuries, and a 43 year-old woman was complaining of neck pain, McKeown said. A 47-year-old woman also said her abdomen hurt
