6-vehicle crash tangles 57 freeway
PLACENTIA A SigAlert was issued Monday morning following a six-vehicle crash on the 57 freeway in Placentia, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.
The accident happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the southbound 57 just north of Orangethorpe Avenue, Officer Denise Quesada of the California Highway Patrol said.
A CHP officer on scene initially said that the accident involved three vehicles, but a second accident occurred when a vehicle approaching the wreck swerved to avoid it.
Three vehicles blocked the HOV and the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes. Three other vehicles pulled over to the right shoulder. The vehicles involved in the crash included two Toyota Camrys, a Lexus IS 250, a Hyundai Elantra, a Plymouth Voyager and a Toyota SR5 pickup.
No injuries were reported.
Traffic was snarled for miles north of the incident.
