61-year-old pedestrian hit near high school
SAN CLEMENTE A 61-year-old man suffered a broken leg and head injuries Sunday night when he was hit by a 16-year-old driver near San Clemente High School, authorities said.
No one was cited in the incident, authorities said, and deputies are still investigating the crash.
The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. near 700 Avenida Pico, said Sgt. Dan Walsh of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Details on how the incident occurred were not immediately available, but the driver was not cited in the crash, he said. No citations have been issued.
The 61-year-old man was taken to Mission Hospital, in Mission Viejo, to be treated for his injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to have played a factor in the crash, Walsh said.
