81-year-old woman dies in crash
An 81-year-old Chino Hills motorist died yesterday after crashing along a major freeway off-ramp in Chino Hills, according to San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.
Lois Mae Rodgers was hurt at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday while driving a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am, officials said in a written statement.
She was traveling south along Highway 71 and turned off onto the Chino Hills Parkway off-ramp, but continued past the end of the off-ramp and collided with a westbound 2003 Toyota Highlander, according to the statement.
Rodgers was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton where she died at 5:12 p.m. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
