Barstow Sisters Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of Teen
Prosecutors say two Barstow sisters have been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a teenager following a fight at a house party.
Police say 16-year-old Chawnteera Harrod died after being stabbed once at the Friday night party. Fifteen-year-old Rasheedah Smith and her sister, 23-year-old Charnisha Smith, were charged Tuesday as adults.
Officers say Charnisha Smith joined in the fight to help her younger sister and other people may have been involved. Police are unsure what prompted the fight.
The sisters face 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
