Big-rig crash blocks off-ramp
A big rig struck a wall on the southbound I-5 freeway off-ramp at Oso Parkway Wednesday morning, leading California Highway Patrol to declare a SigAlert.
The crash was reported to CHP at 6:46 a.m.
The Oso Parkway off-ramp is blocked after the big rig struck the right shoulder wall, said CHP officer Denise Quesada.
The big rig smashed into the sand-filled crash cushions and wound up stopping across the off-ramp.
There are no injuries and no other vehicles were involved, Quesada said.
A SigAlert was called at 7 a.m. The ramp was expected to re-open at around 8 a.m. but was extended until further notice, according to the CHP.
