Boy, 3, struck by car while running in parking lot
A 3-year-old Coachella boy suffered moderate injuries yesterday when he ran into a parking lot and was hit by a passing car, prompting Riverside County sheriff’s officials to warn parents to teach children to stay out of roadways and look both ways before crossing streets and parking lots.
The accident happened about 7:45 p.m. Monday along the 49000 block of Harrison Street.
The child was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Sgt. Jeronimo Contreras said in a written statement.
