Childrens Bracelets Recalled by Chandigarh Fashion Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Childrens Bangles
Units: About 1,200
Importer: Chandigarh Fashion Inc., of Flushing, N.Y.
Hazard: The surface coating on the bracelets contains high levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: This recall involves childrens bangle bracelets. The bracelets which were sold in packets of 24, are gold with stripes of either red, maroon, black, orange or green.
Sold at: Chandigarh Fashion stores in Flushing, N.Y. and Sonia Selections stores in Chicago, Ill. from May 2007 through August 2008 for about $2.
Manufactured in: India
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled bracelets from children and return the bracelets to the store where purchased for a full refund.
