Crashes turn I-5 into parking lot
A series of crashes on the I-5 made for a difficult commute in South County Friday morning.
The most recent crash caused a SigAlert on the northbound I-5 at Bake Parkway at 11:10 a.m. The two-vehicle crash blocked the fast and car-pool lanes. No injuries were reported, the CHP said.
At about 9:49 a.m., a vehicle struck a center divider on the northbound I-5 just south of Lake Forest Drive, the CHP said.
According to the CHP, two other crashes occurred in that area.
About 10 minutes before the crash near Lake Forest Drive, eight vehicles crashed on the northbound I-5 just north of Barranca Parkway, according to reports made to the CHP. Injuries were reported, but were not disclosed.
At about 9:20 a.m., a Toyota Camry crashed with three or four other vehicles on the northbound I-5 just south of Jamboree Road, according to reports made to the CHP. No injuries were reported.
