Dead motorcyclist was a Disneyland cast member
The 25-year-old motorcyclist who died Wednesday morning after a crash on the southbound 57 freeway was a cast member for Disneyland Resort.
Coroner’s officials identified the victim Wednesday night as James Liu of Chino.
“James Liu was a valued and well-liked cast member who worked for Disneyland Resort for six years in attractions and most recently parking,” said Suzi Brown, a spokeswoman for Disneyland Resort.
“We send our sincere condolences to James’ family, friends and co-workers, and have made grief counselors available for cast members who worked with him,” Brown added.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Liu was splitting lanes between the car-pool and the No. 1 lanes at an unknown high rate of speed on the southbound 57 just north of Rolling Hills Drive.
His motorcycle struck a Plymouth Villager and a Toyota Highlander.
Liu was treated at the scene by paramedics and was then taken to St. Jude Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:23 a.m.
