Driver escapes from burning Chrysler

GARDEN GROVE – The driver of a Chrysler New Yorker escaped injuries after his vehicle caught on fire on the eastbound 22 transition road to the southbound I-5 Friday morning.

The vehicle fire was on the right shoulder of the freeway at about 9:57 a.m., according to reports made to the CHP.

There were no reports of injuries, said MetroNet, a fire dispatcher service.

CHP officer R. Gonzalez was on scene and said the driver told him he pulled over after his vehicle started to burn.

There were no passengers inside the vehicle, Gonzalez said.
