Driver Hurt After Big Rig Crashes On 110 Freeway
A big rig crashed on the Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles Wednesday, sending the driver to a hospital and prompting lane closures that lasted more than three hours.
The crash, which occurred at around 12:30 a.m., took place on the northbound 110 near Rosecrans Avenue, between Gardena and unincorporated Rosewood, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A shipping container the big rig was hauling became detached from the trailer when the vehicle overturned, an On Scene camera crew reported.
Firefighters used tools to cut the driver out of the truck before he was transported to a hospital.
All lanes of the northbound 110 were re-opened at 3:54 a.m., CHP Officer Jennifer Connolly said.
