Driver trapped in vehicle on Ortega Highway
Rescuers worked to remove a motorist trapped inside a vehicle that went down an embankment this morning on Ortega Highway at Rancho Viejo Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP received a call about the incident around 7:15 a.m.
Ten firefighters were also called to the scene, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown.
One person was trapped, an off-duty fire captain told the CHP.
Several other vehicles were involved in the crash, McKeown said.
An ambulance took at least one person to Mission Hospital and three people complained of minor injuries, McKeown said. More information to come, as it is available.
