Firefighters free van driver with ax
ANAHEIM Two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on the northbound I-5 near La Palma Avenue at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday.
A California Highway Patrol officer said that a witness saw a gray Ford Mustang lose control while cutting across lanes after entering the freeway at Brookhurst Street.
A white GMC conversion van rolled over in the crash.
Firefighters had to smash the van’s windshield with an ax to free the driver, who was able to walk out afterward. She was taken to the hospital, as was the Mustang’s driver.
A pickup truck and a sedan were also disabled in the crash, which had 3 lanes shut down for more than an hour.
