Girl, 3, says ‘monster’ was at her window
FULLERTON – A 3-year-old girl told her mother a “monster” was at her bedroom window Tuesday night and asked her to meet him in the garage, police said today.
The girl’s mother called police shortly before 9 p.m. after her daughter told her that a man opened her bedroom window as she watched television and tried to lure her out of her apartment, said Fullerton police Sgt. Andrew GoodrichOfficers were sent to a first level unit at an apartment complex at Iris Court near Orangethorpe Avenue and Gilbert Street, he said.
The girl’s mother told officers she had been at the store with her daughter and husband shortly before her daughter told her about a man with an “ugly face” at her window. The girl described the man as having markings, such as acne or moles on his face, Goodrich said.
Officers searched the area and arrested a 44-year-old man in the alley of the apartment complex. He was arrested on suspicion of felony attempted kidnapping and felony burglary, Goodrich said.
“He was identified by the little girl as being the ‘monster,'” Goodrich said.
The man’s name is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.
The girl was unharmed.
