Gym worker allegedly videotaped undressing women

A worker who allegedly videotaped women undressing was arrested Wednesday night at a Lake Forest gym where he worked.
David Emanuel Ramos worked the front desk at Synergy Gym located at 23762 Mercury Road.
According to Orange County Sheriff’s officials, Ramos, 22, was arrested late Wednesday after investigators secured evidence showing that he secretly videotaped women at the gym while they dressed and undressed.
On Tuesday at 3 p.m. a woman who had been working out at the gym observed Ramos hiding a video camera in a plant aimed at the location where she would have changed her clothes, said Jim Amormino, Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman.
“She found the camera turned on and in video mode,” he said. “It was aimed at where women dress and undress. She took the camera to the manager who immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Department.”
Sheriff’s investigators immediately arrived and found the camera to be directly aimed at the dressing area, Amormino said.
On Wednesday investigators searched Ramos’ Lake Forest home and found more evidence to suggest there were more victims.
Amormino said Ramos has an arrest record and was booked into Men’s Central Jail. He was accused of concealing a video camera to secretly videotape, a misdemeanor, and later was released on bail.
