Hit-and-run suspect detained, 2 injured at Crown Valley

MISSION VIEJO — The Crown Valley Parkway on-ramp to northbound 5 freeway was partially blocked this morning due to a suspected hit-and-run driver.
The incident caused a major traffic backup.
One person has been detained and two people were injured, the California Highway Patrol said.
At 6:42 a.m., the CHP received a call about a sleepy driver weaving all over lanes.
Then authorities learned of the driver of a Lexus, now being questioned by sheriff’s deputies, crashed into a three-quarter ton truck and a black BMW, CHP Officer Denise Quesada said.
The truck and Lexus have major damage. Tow trucks were called to the scene.
Two people who were taken to a hospital. The extent of the injuries were not immediately known.
The CHP issued a traffic advisory.
