Man in coma after being sucker-punched at Rascal Flatts concert
“Jake Fleming was leaving a show in Dallas when he was punched in the head.”
A 20-year-old Newport Beach man was left in a coma after he was punched in the face while leaving a concert in Dallas.
Jake Fleming, who went to Newport Harbor High and now plays tennis at UCLA, went to a Rascal Flatts concert in downtown Dallas over the weekend and was attacked while leaving.
His head hit the concrete hard when he fell, causing bleeding and swelling in the brain, according to the Dallas Morning News.
His father, Steve Fleming, told the Morning News that the attackers sucker-punched his son and another man and then ran off, getting on a chartered party bus.
His son was in critical condition.
A call to the Fleming home was not answered; the family is reportedly in Dallas.
Dallas police are looking for the attackers.
Jake Fleming was reportedly visiting a friend at Southern Methodist University for the weekend.
