Separate crashes involving an overturned Land Rover on the southbound 57 and a vehicle fire and the eastbound 91 blocked several lanes Thursday morning.
The first incident, involving up to three vehicles, was reported to the CHP at 9:43 a.m.
According to CHP officer P. Gomez, an SUV made an unsafe lane change to the right and struck a Land Rover, causing the Land Rover to hit a BMW.
The BMW and the Land Rover then crashed into the center divider, Gomez said. The Land Rover overturned and landed on its roof.
According to witness reports made to the CHP, the vehicle overturned in the fast lane and blocked the car-pool lane.
The driver and passenger of the BMW were sent to a nearby hospital, Gomez said.
A SigAlert issued for the No. 1, 2, and car-pool lanes cleared at 10:45 a.m.
The second incident involving three vehicles, including a vehicle on fire, was reported to the CHP at 9:55 a.m. on the eastbound 91 just west of North State College Boulevard.
According to witness reports made to the CHP, a truck trying to merge caused the vehicles to crash.
Witness reports also indicate that one of the vehicles on fire blocked the No. 2 and 3 lanes.
A SigAlert for three lanes cleared at 10:49.
