Motorcycle officer hurts his leg in collision with car
“The accident occurred Friday afternoon at La Habra Boulevard, east of Harbor Boulevard, police said.”
LA HABRA A La Habra motorcycle officer was injured today during a collision with a Honda Accord.
The accident occurred at 12:36 p.m. at La Habra Boulevard, east of Harbor Boulevard, said La Habra Police Lt. Jerry Price.
Based on the initial investigation, the collision occurred as the motorcycle officer was traveling westbound on La Habra and a black Honda Accord was pulling out of a driveway, Price said.
Paul Magdaleno, 36, of Brea, was traveling eastbound on La Habra, and saw the officer lying on the ground.
He said a crowd gathered around the officer who was down and appeared to have injured his leg. Magdaleno said the officer, who appeared to be in his 40s, was able to get up and sit on the curb while help arrived.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. No one in the Accord was injured, Price said.
The accident is under investigation.
