Motorcyclist dies after hitting berm

A 55-year-old Murrieta motorcyclist died Saturday after a crashing into a dirt berm at the east end of Solana Way at Del Rey Road.

The Riverside County coroner’s office said Michael Strong was pronounced dead at 6:02 p.m. at Rancho Springs Medical Center. The motorcyclist was reportedly eastbound on Solana Way, crossed the intersection at Del Rey Road and hit a dirt berm on the opposite side at 5:15 p.m. When Temecula police and firefighters arrived, nearby residents, including a physician, were aiding the motorcyclist.
