Motorcyclist reported lying on freeway

SAN CLEMENTE – Lanes were closed on the northbound I-5 near Avenida Pico after a black Toyota Prius and a motorcycle crashed Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported to the CHP at 12:14 p.m.

The rider was reported lying on the No. 1 lane. CHP officer Gabe Montoya said the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital. The severity of his injuries is currently unknown.

A SigAlert was called at 12:28 p.m. for the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. Lanes were scheduled to be closed for an hour but were cleared at 12:53 p.m.
