Mountain biker rescued from Laguna Canyon
“Air ambulance takes 38-year-old man to trauma center at Mission Hospital.”
LAGUNA BEACH Laguna Beach rescue teams airlifted a 38-year-old man from a trail on the north side of Laguna Canyon on Sunday after he crashed his mountain bike into rough terrain. He was riding with a group of friends and was injured enough that a helicopter picked him up and took him to the trauma center at Mission Hospital, according to Laguna Beach fire officials.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was wearing safety gear but his injuries were significant, fire officials said.
The accident occurred on one of the trails near Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park above Irvine Bowl.
