Passenger trapped after 3-vehicle collision
BUENA PARK — Firefighters have used the Jaws of Life to rescue a passenger trapped inside a Honda Accord after a three-vehicle crash on Western and Crescent avenues, according to fire authorities.
Twelve firefighters were sent to the accident, reported at 7:42 a.m., according to Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire Authority.
McKeown said the Jaws of Life were necessary because the vehicle had sustained major damage that crushed the car door.
The passenger was taken to UCI Medical Center with major injuries.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to UCI Medical
Center.
A Toyota Tundra, a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, and the Honda Accord were involved in the accident.
Initial reports indicated there were five people hurt. The drivers of the of the Tundra and Dodge Ram were treated at the scene. Three ambulances responded.
