Pedestrian Killed By Driver On PCH In Malibu
Authorities said a pedestrian Monday was struck and killed by a driver on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu.
The accident, which took place at around 6:30 a.m., happened at Winding Way, according to Sgt. Ken Crocker of the sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station.
The victim, who was only identified as an Asian female in her 50s, died at the scene, Lt. Scott Chew of the Malibu Station, said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was struck by a vehicle, thrown onto the other side of the roadway and then struck by several other cars, some of which kept going, Chew said.
The motorist, whose vehicle initially hit the woman, stopped and was interviewed, Chew said. No immediate arrests have been made.
The PCH was closed in both directions between Kanan and Winding Way, according to authorities.
Details were still unfolding.
