Pedestrian struck while crossing busy street
Traffic is blocked at Brookhurst Street and Ball Road after a car struck a pedestrian, police said.
Police are investigating the collision involving a man in his 80s, and a black Acura just before 9 a.m., police said.
The man made it about halfway across Brookhurst, walking west about 100 yards north of the intersection when he was struck by the Acura, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
There was no crosswalk where the man was walking, Martinez said.
Clothing and personal belongings were scattered across the street.
The man was taken to UCI Medical Center, Anaheim police officer Kyle Bernard said.
Traffic was blocked on northbound Brookhurst between Ball and Brookmore Avenue, Martinez said.
