Plumbing van overturns, blocking freeway lanes
“A white Toyota goes over the side but no serious injuries are reported.”
A plumbing van has overturned on the southbound I-405 freeway at Bushard Street, leading the California Highway Patrol to declare a SigAlert.
The accident, which apparently did not result in serious injuries, will requires a closure of the No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes for about an hour until a heavy tow truck can arrive to move the van, said CHP officer Denise Quesada.
A white Toyota sedan lost control and struck the plumbing van from behind, causing it to overturn, said CHP Officer Nichols, who was at the scene. The van landed on the driver’s side, facing oncoming southbound traffic.
The Toyota ended up in the iceplant off the right shoulder, and had to be pulled out by a tow truck.
No one was injured. The van driver was wearing a safety belt, Officer Nichols said.
The accident was called in at 10:56 a.m. and the SigAlert was called at 11:04 a.m. and canceled at 12:44 p.m.
