Softball Coach Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges

A 42-year-old softball coach was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend’s 16-year-old daughter over a two-year period, Santa Ana police announced Tuesday.

Bardo Gomez was booked Monday on suspicion of unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, sodomy with a minor and continuous sexual abuse of a child, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

Bertagna said bail was set at $100,000.

Gomez gives private softball pitching lessons to girls out of his home.
