Sportime Recalls Childrens Floor Hockey Sets Due to Lead Paint Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: BigBox Hockey Sets
Units: About 580
Importer: Sportime, of Norcross, Ga.
Hazard: The surface coating on the boards, which are assembled together to form the floor hockey playing-field, contain excessive levels of lead violating the federal lead paint standard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description and Models: This recall involves all sets of BigBox Hockey, each consisting of six boards, measuring 6 long by 10 tall. The boards come in six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. The boards can be assembled together to create a contained playing area for childrens floor hockey.
Sold through: Sportimes catalog and online at www.sportime.com from November 2006 through October 2009 for between $147 and $269.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled product away from children and contact Sportime to obtain a full refund.
