Sydney Ramirez identified as 16 year old who dies after hit by car.

LA PALMA Authorities have identified a 16-year-old student who died several days after being struck by a car on her way to school.
Sydney Ramirez of Cypress died Thursday at Long Beach Memorial Hospital after being taken off life support, said Los Angeles Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
The John F. Kennedy High School student was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle while walking across a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Crescent Avenue and Watson Street about 6:45 a.m. Monday morning.
Ramirez was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was placed on life support after surgery, La Palma police Sgt. Jim Engen said. She died at about 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, Engen said.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was questioned at the scene and released. No charges have been filed, but police say the case is under investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the accident to call the La Palma Police Department at 714-690-3370.
Supporters have scheduled a memorial car wash and fundraiser in Ramirez’s honor from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Kennedy High School parking lot at 8281 Walker St. They will also be taking donations for the family at the La Palma Pageant at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Kennedy High School Performing Arts Center.
