Three people trapped in multi-vehicle crash
One woman is in critical condition and two people are hurt following a collision involving a big rig truck, a fire official said.
The three people were trapped inside a vehicle following a crash that involved as many as three vehicles this morning on Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown.
Orange County Fire Authority rescuers were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. to cut one vehicle to free a person or people inside, a dispatcher said.
A child was among those hurt, although the child’s injuries were believed to be minor. One woman was listed in critical condition, another in serious condition, McKeown said.
The three were taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Vehicles involved included a white Toyota RAV 4 and a big rig. The truck driver appeared unhurt at the scene, although his condition was not confirmed.
The vehicles blocked traffic. South and westbound traffic was closed at the intersection.
