Truck rolls after crash on 55 freeway
SANTA ANA A GMC Sierra rolled over and landed on its wheels Thursday morning after being struck by a Mitsubishi Galant on the southbound 55 just south of 17th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported to the CHP at 10:19 a.m.
According to CHP officer M.T. Magrann, witnesses said the driver of the Galant was traveling at about 80 mph and was driving recklessly before losing control of his car. The Galant slammed into the Sierra and caused the truck to roll, witnesses said.
The Sierra and the Galant ended up facing the wrong way on the right shoulder.
The driver of the truck complained of pain but was not taken to the hospital. The driver of the Galant was uninjured.
A SigAlert was called at 10:34 a.m. Lanes were clear 30 minutes later.
