Victim identified in fatal Pinyon Pines crash
Coroner’s officials have released the name of a teenager who was killed this weekend when she and four teenage companions crashed along Highway 74 near Pinyon Pines.
Seventeen-year-old Lisel J. Wiedemann of Palm Desert died at the scene of the 7:40 p.m. wreck Sunday about 1-1/2 miles west of Carrizo Road.
Eighteen-year-old Lydia Lee Emer was driving the 2008 Dodge Caliber when it drifted off the right side of the road, plunged down the steep embankment, hit a rock outcropping and overturned onto its roof, California Highway Patrol investigators have said. Cause of the accident is being investigated.
