Woman killed when car flips over on 710 Freeway offramp
A motorist was killed today when her car overturned on an offramp from the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach, authorities said.
The accident at West Sixth Street was reported just after 4:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman died at the scene, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner’s office. Authorities withheld her name, pending notification of her relatives.
The Sixth Street offramp was closed to accommodate the investigation, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos. Initial reports by law enforcement that two southbound freeway lanes were closed were inaccurate, Villalobos said.
