Woman seriously injured while crossing street
“The accident occurred at Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue in Anaheim, police said.”
A woman in her 30s suffered possible life-threatening injuries this morning when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed the street, police said.
The accident was reported at 4:40 a.m. at Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.
The initial investigation revealed the woman was crossing in the north crosswalk of the intersection when a Toyota Camry traveling north struck her, Martinez said.
The 62-year-old driver from Anaheim remained at the scene.
Martinez said it appears the driver of the 1997 Camry had a green light and the woman appears to have been crossing against a red light.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
