Woman struck, killed on 105 Fwy in Downey

A 31-year-old Pico Rivera woman died Sunday when she was struck by a vehicle on the Century (105) Freeway in Downey.

Yesenia Gonzalez, 31, walked into the eastbound traffic lanes of the 105 Freeway under the Ardis Avenue overpass about 1:35 a.m., CHP Officer J. Vaughan said.

She was hit by a car heading to the Bellflower Boulevard offramp, Vaughan said, and died on the freeway.

The motorist who struck Gonzalez fled the scene, the officer said.
