Womens Shoes Recalled by Charles David Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack
“U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission”
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Womens Sample Shoes
Units: About 3,200 pairs
Importer: Charles David, of Culver City, Calif.
Hazard: The heel of the recalled shoes can detach, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of a heel detaching, resulting in minor bruising.
Description: The recall involves various colors and styles of Charles by Charles David brand (item #SAMPCHSHOE) and Charles David of California brand (item #SAMPCDSHOE) womens sample shoes. The shoes were sold in womens sizes 7 and 9. The item number can be located on the original receipt.
Sold at: Nordstrom stores in California and Nordstrom Rack stores nationwide from April 2009 through June 2009 for between $22 and $80.
Manufactured in: China, Spain, and Italy
Remedy: Consumers should stop wearing the recalled shoes immediately and return them to any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store for a full refund.
