Placentia woman awakens to burglary suspect showering in her bathroom
A Placentia homeowner awoke early Wednesday to the sounds of a burglar showering in her upstairs bathroom, police said.
Police said Robert Jensen, 39, of Brawley, entered the elderly woman’s home at 7:30 a.m. on July 4 by shaking a rear-sliding door in her bedroom until it opened and walking past the sleeping homeowner.
Then he took a shower.
By the time the homeowner had roused and called the police, she reported that the man – now clothed – had exited her home, hopped a fence to the Alta Vista golf course and run away, Placentia Sgt. Chris Anderson said.
Police said they arrested Jensen on the 7th hole of the golf course in possession of the homeowner’s wallet and jacket.
“The only thing (Jensen) said was that he was in the area to meet up with a friend,” Anderson said.
Police described Jensen as “a transient from Brawley.”
