Show zookeepers some appreciation at OC Zoo

Get a zookeepers’ perspective on the OC Zoo Saturday, July 21.

Zookeeper Appreciation Day will feature various “keeper chats” as well as a special talk at 10:30 a.m. on “So You Want to be a Zookeeper.”

Children’s activities are planned throughout the day, including crafts and games. There will also be the chance to make thank-you cards for the hardworking zookeepers.

Visitors are encouraged to wear zookeeper attire.

“Visitors will be able to learn more about what a day in the life of a zookeeper is like, see tools of the trade and meet select animals up close,” organizers said.

The first 100 children will receive a ticket for a free ride on the nearby Irvine Park Railroad.
