Teen stabbed in fight with gang members in Tustin
TUSTIN — A teenager suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to the abdomen while fighting with some gang members Wednesday in Tustin.
A family member took the boy to a hospital, where he was treated after being cut with an “unknown solid object,” said Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright.
Officers were dispatched a little before 12:50 p.m. to the scene of the altercation in the 17000 block of Whitby Court, where witnesses said the boy had been in a fight with several suspects, Wright said.
“When officers arrived they located evidence of a confrontation consistent with an assault,” Wright said. “Preliminary investigation indicates this incident is possibly gang related and the victim was specifically targeted.”
Tustin police asked anyone with any information regarding the assault to call them at (714) 573-3372.
