Bodybuilders bring the muscle to Huntington Beach library
Passersby may have noticed a contingent of impressively buff people muscling their way into the Huntington Beach Central Library on Saturday, July 21.
A series of body-building competitions took shape all afternoon and into the evening, with men and women of all levels flexing their biceps, quads, lats and all sorts of other muscles. Top prizes included a chance to represent Team USA in the World Fitness Federation World Championships.
Among the competitors were athletes with physical challenges – including Jesse Sink, who lost an arm in a train accident. Sink uses a prosthetic arm to perform push-ups, weightlifting and bench presses.
The event was organized by Huntington Beach High alumna Lauren Powers, a heavyweight bodybuilding champion.
