Man arrested in fatal stabbing attack that killed 1 in Orange, other suspects sought
A 25-year-old Orange man was stabbed to death early Sunday near a bar where he’d been involved in a fight, police said.
The victim and another man left The District Lounge, at 223 W. Chapman Ave., after a fight. Outside, near the bar, the people they’d been fighting with drove by in a vehicle, said Sgt. Phil McMullin.
“The driver stopped his vehicle and three adult males exited the car,” McMullin said. “The suspects attacked the two victims, stabbing one with a knife and assaulting the other victim.”
The stabbing victim was identified as Nicholas Glynn. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. His companion was beaten but survived the attack.
On Monday, detectives arrested one suspect in the attack. Vidal Almazan, 21, of Santa Ana was booked into jail on suspicion of murder. According to jail records, he was being held in lieu of $1 million.
McMullin would not give details about how Almazan was identified but said that they are still in search of the other suspects involved.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7551.
