One dead after car overturns, hits guardrail on 91 Freeway in Anaheim

One person was dead after the Jeep they were riding in overturned and hit a guardrail off the eastbound 91 freeway in Anaheim early Thursday morning, Aug. 30.

The Jeep Wrangler was reported overturned on the side of the road shortly after 1:30 a.m. just east of Imperial Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers found that the vehicle had hit the guardrail, and one person was pronounced dead, a CHP dispatcher said.

Though it was immediately unknown if the person inside was a man or woman, or what led to the crash, officers called for the coroner shortly after the incident was reported.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
