Stanton stabbing leaves suspect’s mother, father, sister and girlfriend wounded
STANTON — A 21-year-old man was in custody Friday, Sept. 28, after authorities say he attacked family members, stabbing three of them.
Deputies found the suspect’s 53-year-old father, 57-year-old mother and 14-year-old sister with stab wounds after a 12:50 a.m. disturbance call.
The suspect’s girlfriend had bruising on her face.
After investigating, deputies discovered a family argument at the home in the 11000 block of Irwin Drive had led to a physical fight, said Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
All of the victims were taken to a hospital and expected to survive, she said. The father was stabbed multiple times and had the most serious wounds.
Investigators were checking to see if drugs or alcohol played a role, Braun said.
The suspect, whose name had not been released, was taken into custody. It was immediately unknown what type of weapon was used but was described by authorities as a sharp object.
