Staying on a board while riding to shore can be ruff.

But these four-legged surfer pups are pros, showing off their hot-dogging wave-riding style for a crowd in Huntington Beach on Saturday as part of the Surf City Surf Dog event.

Held at the famed Dog Beach at Goldenwest St., this year’s event marks a decade of doggy fun in the surf and sun.

It’s also a special year for the Dog Beach, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Since the event started, more than 500 dogs have participated. Some have even traveled from overseas to join the contest, which has major bragging rights for dog owners.

There was a “shredder/pro” heat, where the dogs are pushed into waves, and a tandem division, where dogs are joined by their owner or trainer on the board.

The event is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to several K-9 focused charities.
