Pedestrian killed in Garden Grove traffic collision identified
Authorities identified a pedestrian who died after he was struck by an automobile in Garden Grove on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Freddie Brown Jr., 46, was pronounced dead following a traffic collision that happened sometime before 8:56 p.m., according to Orange County Coroner’s investigator Kelly Keyes. Officials did not know his city of residence.
The man was walking along Harbor Boulevard, between Banner Drive and Trask Avenue, when he was hit by a vehicle, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

At first, the person behind the wheel of the automobile had driven away from the area, but later returned after realizing that a collision had occurred, according to police. Police said the driver was cooperative with investigators, who do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
