A new workout trend apparently soothes the soul as little hooves climb your lower vertebra.

But, hey, little goats!

California Goat Yoga is coming to Disneyland (sort of). The program is partnering with Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel for yoga sessions on Oct. 27. The hotel is just north of the theme park on West Ball Road.

“We love that goat yoga is a family-friendly activity and we love sharing the goats with youth,” said Alex Mullenax, owner of California Goat Yoga and Mullenax Ranch in Tehachapi. “Our yoga program is unique for the fact we use only baby Nigerian dwarf goats in our sessions. Our smallest are smaller than a house cat, and our oldest babies are well-mannered and love to snuggle.”

The goat-yoga combo got started as a lark on Lainey Morse’s farm in Oregon. A friend hosted her yoga session there, the goats got involved, and the rest is history. An article in Modern Farmer would launch the concept nationwide and headlines soon were going viral.

“Bring a Yoga Mat and an Open Mind. Goats Are Provided,” NYT.

“Goat Yoga Exercise Craze Is More Popular Than Ever,” CBS Baltimore.

“I did yoga with a goat standing on my back and discovered an L.A. fountain of youth,” Steve Lopez wrote at the Los Angeles Times.

“This isn’t silly; this isn’t a fad,” Morse says in an OPB magazine article and video. She says the goats help you forget about any personal pain or stress when you’re with the goats. “You don’t always have to be so serious about things.”

So, back to Anaheim.

Disney fans will remember when the Happiest Place on Earth had real goats at Big Thunder Ranch. They got the boot, so to speak, back in 2016. Now goat and yoga fans will have to get their goat fix with a turn on the yoga mat.

The outdoor class will be held in the hotel’s interior gardens. The goats won’t wander free; they’ll be penned in the class area by portable fencing.

Yoga mats will be provided, and the class allows time for a photo session with the goats at the end. Advance reservations for the class are $37 per person and can be booked at https://www.californiagoatyoga.com/signup.

There are two sessions available at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
