Red Robin CEO shares Oktoberfest burger with Hermosa Beach woman who resurrected it via Twitter
A woman’s burger dreams came true on Friday, Oct. 12.
Hermosa Beach resident Roxy Duffy, 30, campaigned on Twitter for more than two years, trying to persuade Red Robin to bring back its limited-edition Oktoberfest burger.
She wooed the attention of the company’s CEO, Denny Marie Post.
Post not only facilitated the return of the specialty burger, but treated Duffy to a party with her friends and family at the South Bay Galleria location.
The CEO even flew into Southern California for the special night, complete with balloons, a champagne toast and, of course, Oktoberfest burgers.
“It’s incredible that she’s here celebrating with us and that this is actually happening, it’s not just a pipe dream,” said Duffy, clad in a shirt monogrammed with “Dream it, Tweet it, Eat it.”
Post said she enjoyed getting to gather with the many generations of Duffy’s guests as well as the Red Robin team.
“It’s cool to see many generations and to be down here with the whole crew to celebrate a fan like this,” Post mused. “It’s the best kind of Friday night I can have.”
Red Robin describes the burger as follows: “A toasted pretzel bun slathered with beer mustard and topped with a fire-grilled beef patty, melted Swiss cheese, beer-mustard sautéed onions, Black Forest ham and green leaf lettuce. Pair that with Sweet Potato Fries served with sweet and spicy ketchup for dipping.”
As for a verdict on the epic return of the Oktoberfest burger?
Duffy said it’s even better than she remembers.
And good news for burger fans: Post said the burger, which is available through Oct. 31, will likely make a recurring appearance on Red Robin menus in seasons to come.
